I did it.

I signed up for the Mini. I put in a finish time of 3:30, which I think is about 17-minute miles!

If you decide to register and want to be in the same starting group with me, use that time. You don’t have to, though. If you are a runner and want to start closer to the front, you go right ahead. It’ll still be fun.

I didn’t sign up for the pasta party. If several of you choose to do the Mini, maybe we’ll just have our very own pasta party at my favorite Italian restaurant in Brownsburg.

I did, however, sign up for the three training events in February, March and April. I believe you can sign up for any of those even if you aren’t in the Mini. So, let me know if you want to join me. About the February event – it’s only 5K (which I can already do) and February tends to be cold, so I could totally see myself bailing out of that one!

See the links in the post below for registration and info.

  1. Go for it! All of your fitness goals have paid off in spades, so I say go for it. I’m sure you’ll do great, and feel great about it. And you’ll get a medal to commemorate your acheivement. We all need more medals and awards in our lives.

  2. I’ve signed up – and I’ve got your back. If that darned “pick up” truck is in site we’ll just break into a sprint!

As Elijah and Colin would say… “Run, run, as fast as you can. You can’t catch me I’m the Stinky Cheese Man”. (From The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales by Jon Scieszka and Lane Smith.)

  3. Personally, I think if Bif is really loyal he should sign up to run by your side.

  4. OK, I’ll do it too! But I’ll need to ask for babysitting help with Julia during the events–maybe if Troy is watching Colleen while you’re walking, Julia can hang out with them?

Someone at work told me about this and I was intrigued…if you’re doing it, I’ll do it! (I can do 5k already, too, so I think we’re well on our way!)

  5. I got real excited, thinking yah I want to do it. I have wanted to do it for a long time, but then I remembered why I havent done it yet— it is on the first Saturday in May, which is Derby Day and we always go to a big family party in Louisville! Shucks I am disapointed but I will be rooting for you all!

I just signed up this morning – it seems like a good fitness goal, and I can’t think of a more fun group of gals to do this with!
