I have been and continue to be so blessed to have many good friends who have supported me through this time. My good friend Andy Ashby is hosting a party for me to celebrate this achievement and all of the people who helped me get here!
You are invited: 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at The Blanton House in Danville, Indiana. Details are below.
It is hard to describe how much I have needed all of my friends these last few years. It was a tremendous challenge made infinitely easier and better by everyone who helped me before, during and after.
I am particularly indebted to my friends from UUCC in Danville, my awesome co-workers and my family. Countless people from my church cooked meals, cleaned my house, worked on my yard, baby-sat, dog-sat, drove me to appointments and were always there for emotional support. My co-workers were extremely patient with my health and emotional challenges and helped me in every way imaginable. As for my family, this was not the only serious challenge they faced in the last 2 1/2 years, but they still went out of their way to be available to me and supportive.
And even in this past year, when I have been in full “recovery” (although dealing with more reconstruction), I have experienced so many difficult new changes in my life, my new and old friends have brought so much joy to me. I am extremely blessed to have all of you in my life.
So, this party is as much for YOU – old friends and new and all of my loved ones – as it is for me. This is a celebration of life for us all!
This is your invitation and I do hope you will join me. I am scatter-brained right now from a huge project at work, so I would be grateful if you would pass along this information to others.
Good food (pulled pork is what I’m hearing), refreshments and a celebration-appropriate cake will be served. 🙂 RSVP is not necessary, but you may contact Andy at 317-373-0663 or email him at email@example.com if you have questions.
If you have never been to Blanton House, it is a beautiful place. It is located on 20 acres of gorgeous woods. If we have the same weather we have been enjoying, bring your walking shoes and go out on the trails or just admire the views from the yard.
Open House – 3-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26
